VUTEk Exhibits the Ultimate in Superwide Flexibility Products at Photokina 2002

Photokina Booth Hall 10.1, Aisle K020/L021

June 17, 2002 - VUTEk Inc, the leading supplier of superwide format digital inkjet printers, will be exhibiting three of its high quality superwide printing systems, as well as their new, faster RIP station and new version of RIP software at Photokina 2002 in Cologne, Germany from September 25 through September 30th. VUTEk’s photographic quality PressVu™ UV 180/600 EC eight-color printer will be featured with the new Auto Sheet Feeder 180. The UltraVu™ 2600 EC eight-color, two-meter printer for ultra-high quality applications and the UltraVu™ 3360 EC eight-color, three-meter printer also will be on exhibit. VUTEk will also demonstrate their more powerful RIP station with enhanced ColorBurst software.

VUTEk’s PressVu UV™ 180/600 EC uses UV curable inks to print on the widest range of rigid or flexible substrates, and offers 360x800 resolution. The PressVu™ UV family of printers can print in either eight or four colors, on substrates up to 1.8m wide. Capable of transforming time consuming and costly short run jobs into efficient and profitable business opportunities, the PressVu UV™ 180/600 EC offers increased output consistency, ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction. By printing directly onto a wide range of rigid board and flexible substrates, the PressVu UV™ 180/600 EC minimizes the need for finishing.

The Auto Sheet Feeder 180 is engineered to automatically feed a stack of rigid sheets through the printer to facilitate fully automated material input, further increasing the labor savings from the PressVu UV™ printing systems. It is recommended for a wide range of rigid plastics and foam centered boards, which have been tested and approved by VUTEk. The unit allows users to load a stack of materials up to 18” (0.46m) deep and weighing up to 800 lbs. onto the feeder (up to 144 sheets of 1/8” rigid plastic) at one time. It has a unique telescopic platform, which extends to 96” (2.44m) in length, to accommodate larger board sizes.

The UltraVu™ 2600 EC superwide printer, the newest addition to the VUTEk two-meter family, has been optimized specifically for ultra high quality applications requiring superfine photographic line and text detail. With 1200 dpi (600 addressable) capability, the eight-color digital printer (switchable between eight-color and fast four-color modes) provides the ideal solution for very high quality indoor and outdoor applications.

The UltraVu™ 3360 EC eight-color, three-meter printer offers unmatched print speed, quality, and versatility, and is ideal for printing on paper, vinyl, mesh and pressure sensitive materials. With a 360 dpi resolution capability (720 dpi apparent), the UltraVu™ 3360 EC produces images that are sharp, crisp and consistent. The UltraVu™ 3360 is the perfect printer for high quality production printing for a wide variety of applications.

VUTEk’s new RIP station has been reengineered to rip files twice as fast as before and to transfer files four times faster. The ColorBurst 7.0 software enhancements greatly improve file preparation and improve the versatility of VUTEk printers in the proofing process and for short run jobs. The collection of innovative new features incorporated into the RIP station and software allows users to dramatically reduce RIP time, improve workflow and better control overall print quality.

VUTEk printing systems eliminate the need for chemical baths and laminating, which are routinely required for traditional photo processing.
