VUTEk printed graphics used to enhance children’s imaginative and interactive skills by Artistic Coverings
July 31, 2002 - US based product manufacturer Artistic Coverings has installed an UltraVu 2360 SC, to print covers for sports, recreational and educational children’s products. The new VUTEk produced high quality, bright printed covers, has proved an effective marketing tool for Artistic Coverings, while also facilitating in the development of children’s imagination and social behavior.
Artistic Coverings has been manufacturing sports and educational products for over 32 years. Michelle Robinson, Co-owner and Vice President/Marketing, Artistic Coverings discusses its decision to apply printed graphics to its range of products.
‘Traditionally, when schools ordered geometric shape products, they ordered the safety padding in school colors, with only the choice of standard primary colors available. But with new printed graphics available from our VUTEk UltraVu 2360 SC, the door has been opened to an exciting new world for sports and learning centers.’
With 27 members of staff, Artistic Coverings produces a wide variety of competitive sports and early childhood products. These range from high jump and track and field equipment, to geometric shapes for younger children. When ordering these products, customers now have the opportunity to print logos, mascots and advertising on the items padding.
Michelle continues, ‘We used the UltraVu 2360 SC to print vibrant, imaginative graphics onto vinyl covering for our soft play Jungle Climber - a five piece unit that allows children to imagine climbing in a jungle and sliding down a waterfall. When this was placed next to a similar product in primary colors, we observed how the children chose the Jungle Climber in preference – engaging in noticeably happier play.’
‘What’s more, we also noticed that the children’s imaginations seemed to soar, with the quality and level of their exercise skills, balance and coordination dramatically improving too.’
Just as enthusiastic about the VUTEk UltraVu 2360 SC and its affects, Michelle’s business partner, Mr. Troy Robinson, CEO/President explained why he first chose VUTEk and why, he would definitely buy another:
‘Obviously, all products have their good and bad points, but after thorough investigations, the UltraVu 2360 SC proved to be state-of-the-art. It is flexible on substrates, which helps us enormously when printing onto different strengths of vinyl and other fabrics. It’s easy to use and the repeatability aspect with the color vibrancy is vital. We print on-demand and create some intricate designs that are always reproduced perfectly.’
Artistic Coverings was recently awarded the Oppenheim Best New Toy Gold Seal Award 2002, for its VUTEk printed Crayon Balance Beam product. The award celebrated the products ability to develop balance and coordination, while stimulating a child’s mind.
Looking towards the future, Artistic Coverings is already developing many new products for use by schools, museums, children’s learning centers and the entertainment/film industry.
‘With VUTEk,’ concludes Michelle, ‘the color range and high quality capabilities, enables our customer to realize amazing opportunities.’
