NUR Macroprinters Installs 200th NUR Fresco Wide-Format Digital Production Printer, at Nogales of Barcelona, Spain, a Sign Company Specializing in Exhibition and Display Graphics
Israel; February 13, 2003 - NUR Macroprinters (Nasdaq: NURM), a leading global supplier of wide-format and superwide digital printing systems and consumables for out-of-home advertising, today announced that it recently installed the 200th unit in its NUR Frescoô series of wide-format digital production presses.
Nogales, a 15-year-old sign company based in Barcelona, Spain, that specializes in exhibition and display graphics, has installed the 200th NUR Fresco, a NUR HiQ 8C 3200 (capable of producing output 3.2 meters or 10.5 ft. wide). The new machine will operate as a complement to the NUR Salsaô Ultima 3200 entry-level photorealistic printer which Nogales has been operating for over a year.
The NUR Fresco printers` combination of high speed, quality and productivity has made them one of the best-selling wide-format production printers on the market today. NUR Macroprinters has been selling NUR Fresco models to digital print service providers, billboard and media companies, photo labs and screen printers since early 2000.
‘When we first launched the NUR Fresco series in 2000, we believed it would set a new competitive benchmark for wide format digital production printing in terms of quality, versatility and productivity,Ē says Ron Michael, VP marketing at NUR Macroprinters, Ltd. ’The product has received excellent reviews around the world and a high degree of market acceptance. With the recent addition of the NUR Fresco HiQ 8C models, and the new X-Press 100 mode that enables NUR Frescos to print up to 100 square meters (1100 square feet) per hour, we believe the machines are more versatile than ever and appeal to an even wider range of businesses. The NUR Fresco product line remains our most popular and fastest selling printer series.’
‘Reaching the 200th NUR Fresco is a real milestone for us, further reinforcing the success of the machine worldwide,’ says Erez Shachar, president and CEO of NUR Macroprinters Ltd. ‘We are proud of the strong market acceptance of this product and the increasing recognition that it`s a real `workhorse` that users can count on. In fact, we have more than 30 sites around the world operating two or more Frescos; one site actually runs six Frescos side by side!’
Before purchasing its first wide format digital production printer over a year ago, Nogales had been subcontracting the production of wide format graphics to an outside company that had a NUR Salsa Ultima. Adding the same machine to Nogales` own equipment roster was a logical next step. Today, Nogales uses its NUR Salsa Ultima 3200 to produce a wide variety of wide-format graphics ranging from outdoor banners to vehicle graphics printed on self-adhesive vinyl.
‘In the year since we began using the NUR Salsa, we have seen our business grow considerably. We therefore decided to increase our wide format printing capacity even further and looked into a variety of models, including the Scitex Vision XLjet and the Vutek 3360 as well as the NUR Fresco HiQ 8C,’ says Carlos Nogales, co-owner and general manager of Nogales. ‘However, after reviewing the quality and speed of all those models, we chose the NUR Fresco HiQ 8C 3200. Our excellent experience with NUR Macroprinters as a supplier and `partner` over the past year were key factors in our decision. And all of the positive feedback we gathered from other NUR Fresco users further convinced us that we made the right choice.’
Added Pedro Nogales, co-owner and production manager at Nogales, ‘We believe the quality and speed of the NUR Fresco HiQ 8C plus its superb versatility will let us go after an even wider variety of work than we currently handle. The more versatile the machine, the more creative our customers become in inventing new applications and advertising media which we now can produce.’
Nogales will use the new NUR Fresco to handle work characterized by longer print runs and fast turnaround, and will continue to operate the NUR Salsa for shorter run applications.
Concluded Ochi Hernandez, co-owner and manager of the digital printing department at Nogales, ďOf course we`ll keep running the NUR Salsa. Our customers love it and often ask for NUR Salsa prints specifically. Running both a NUR Salsa and a NUR Fresco is the best recipe for success by a print shop in today`s competitive environment.Ē
