Printing With White Will Have You Seeing Black - Introducing the PressVu® UV 200/600 W+.
MEREDITH, NH (February 22, 2005) - VUTEk® Inc. is pleased to introduce the PressVu® UV 200/600 W+, a 600-dpi, four-color plus white printer that is capable of printing on a variety of sheet-fed or roll-to-roll materials. Built upon the successful PressVu® UV 200/600 platform, the PressVu® UV 200/600 W+ is VUTEk®’s latest addition to its growing family of UV-curing flatbed printers. The additional capability of printing white further expands the range of viable applications print-for-pay providers can use to increase their service offering and become more profitable.
The industrial-strength PressVu® UV 200/600 W+ eliminates the need for many secondary finishing steps and associated materials. The jetting of white is done in line, so no re-feeding is necessary. The production of transparent media for backlit signs, for example, is simplified by post printing white over process color to serve as a diffuser. In addition, the PressVu® UV 200/600 W+ allows customers to print white images and text directly on unusual surfaces like wood and glass, and on colored stock. Customers also will be able to print white fill (flood) as a base on clear and non-white substrates.
The PressVu® UV 200/600 W+ can print up to 80 inches (2 meters) wide at up to 350 square feet per hour (33 square meters per hour), and prints on rigid materials up to 1.75 inches (4.45 centimeters) thick. The PressVu® UV 200/600 W+ is currently in beta and will be commercially available in May 2005. VUTEk is currently accepting orders for the PressVu® UV 200/600 W+, and will ship a printer that will be upgraded to print white when it becomes available. Current models of the PressVu® UV 200/600 in the field can also be upgraded to print white.
