VUTEk® Exhibits Latest UV-Curing Flatbed and Solvent Roll-to-Roll Printers at imageWorld™ 2005 - Booth 510.
MEREDITH, NH (June 29, 2005) – VUTEk®, a division of EFI, is exhibiting its latest additions to its popular PressVu® UV family of UV-curing flatbed and UltraVu® solvent roll-to-roll printers at imageWorld™ 2005 (August 18 - 20, Mexico City, Mexico). Visitors to the VUTEk booth will see the all-new 3.2-meter, PressVu® UV 320/400 UV-curing flatbed printer as well as the PressVu® UV 200/600, both designed to increase the productivity and profitability of sign, screen printing and digital imaging shops. In addition, VUTEk will exhibit the UltraVu® II 3360 solvent roll-to-roll printer, engineered to deliver greater productivity and increased functionality.
VUTEk recently introduced its sixth edition to their popular family of flatbed printers – the 3.2-meter, PressVu UV 320/400 UV-curing flatbed printer, starting at $299,000. Designed to help sign shops, screen printers and digital print providers increase their productivity as well as profitability, the PressVu UV 320/400 is the most versatile printer available and costs far less than competitive printers. It accommodates rigid substrates up to 3.2 meters (126 inches) wide, and offers excellent productivity at up to 93 square meters (1,000 square feet) per hour, equating to 14 - 2 meter x 3 meter (20 - 4’ x 8’) sheets per hour with true good quality output. It also features roll-to-roll capability, giving customers true flexibility to offer a full range of services. Applications range from billboard to high quality P-O-P and everything in between.
The PressVu UV 320/400 is available as a four-color model, and prints high-quality, 400 dpi resolution images on rigid substrates up to 4.45 cm (1.75 inches) thick. Ruggedly built for reliable, around-the-clock productivity, the PressVu UV 320/400 prints on a wide range of sheet-fed and roll-to-roll substrates. Set up is quick and easy, and can be done with one person in less than one minute, allowing customers to focus their time on producing, not preparing.
The two-printer-in-one capability of the PressVu UV 320/400 allows customers to print on both rigid and flexible materials, so customers can offer a more comprehensive range of applications, increasing their value to their customers while driving up profitability. The switch between flatbed and roll-to-roll can be completed in less than a minute, barely affecting the printers overall productivity.
Also on exhibit, the PressVu UV 200/600, starting at only $199,000, provides the flexibility and superior performance of UV-curing flatbed technology at an affordable price. It enables users to benefit from high-end image quality, greater productivity and improved profitability.
Available in four, six, and four-color and white+ models, the PressVu UV 200/600 delivers 600 dpi, photographic color reproduction and crisp text reproduction. Color gradients are smooth in the printer’s six-color/600 dpi mode, and the accurate and easily repeatable matching of target colors is now possible for commercial imagers. The PressVu UV 200/600 can print up to two meters (80 inches) wide at up to 33 square meters (350 square feet) per hour, and prints on rigid materials up to 4.45 centimeters (1.75 inches) thick. The PressVu UV 200/600 is industrial strength and delivers consistent quality on an endless variety of rigid sheet-fed or roll-to-roll materials.
The versatility of the printer enables owners to expand their services and satisfy a nearly infinite variety of long-term outdoor and indoor applications — increasing value to customers and driving up profitability.
VUTEk will also display its new UltraVu II 3360 three-meter roll-to-roll printer. In addition to delivering throughput improvements in all print modes, the UltraVu II 3360 comes standard with many new features such as a ColorBurst Software RIP and VUTEk’s soon to be released automated two-sided print registration option for producing consistent, distortion-free double-sided graphics.
Engineered for both high-speed and high-quality printing, the UltraVu II 3360, starting at $199,000, achieves print speeds up to 196 square meters (2,113 square feet) per hour with the new Rapid Return feature, included in VUTEk’s latest software version.
The Rapid Return feature allows the printer carriage to increase its acceleration and deceleration speeds, so there is no longer a significant pause between sweeps. Available in four-, six- and eight-color models, the UltraVu® II 3360 prints at 720 dpi resolution (360 dpi addressable) for sharp, crisp and consistent output. The UltraVu II 3360 replaces the previous UltraVu 3360 EC printer.
Headquartered in Meredith, New Hampshire, VUTEk will now operate as a division of EFI and continue to deliver the industry’s leading digital printers and inks for the fast growing superwide segment of the professional print market. VUTEk’s customers include commercial printers, screen printers, photo labs, sign shops and reprographic houses that print on a variety of grand format surfaces, including paper, vinyl, corrugated, textile, glass, plastic and nearly any other flexible and rigid substrate up to two inches thick.
