FESPA 2007 set to be the key decision-making forum for screen and digital printing next year. Two additional halls optioned as screen printing suppliers demand bigger stands.

21st August 2006 - Underlining its reputation as the leading international forum for screen and digital printing, almost 200 suppliers have already signed up for FESPA’s next flagship event, FESPA 2007 (Messe Berlin, 5th – 9th June 2007). These exhibitors account for 14,000 sqm, which is half of the floor space available. Several companies are taking sizeable stands of more than 200sqm each, including Agfa, Avery, Fujifilm Sericol, Saati, M&R, MHM, Mutoh, Sakurai, Spandex, Thieme, and Sefar.

Increasing demand for floor space has prompted FESPA to place an option on two additional halls at Messe Berlin. Frazer Chesterman, FESPA Exhibitions Director, comments: “We are really pleased with the response we have had from suppliers so far, particularly from key names in the screen printing sphere. We are seeing some of our long-standing screen printing exhibitors request bigger stands than ever before, indicating that they will have much to show in the way of new products and techniques. We have increased our target for FESPA 2007 by 2,000 sqm to 28,000 sqm, and judging by our experience to date, there is more than sufficient interest in the market to meet this.”

Key screen printing suppliers explain why they will be exhibiting at FESPA 2007 in Berlin:

“Since the early 1960s, Siasprint built its worldwide reputation as a producer of high quality screen printing machinery. For many decades FESPA has been a valued partner and crucial in several ways: establishing proper industry exposure, networking and making new connections, and ultimately, generating business that impacts our bottom line. As a creative and innovative manufacturer we strive to stay ahead of our competition and continue to satisfy our growing number of customers. We see each and every FESPA event as our stage to provide an important introduction of new designs and products.”
- Alberto Nobile, Managing Director, Siasprint

“FESPA permits us to meet with customers from all over the world. Considering the geography of our markets, it would not be possible to program so many visits in such a short period without the show. We consider FESPA a great value.”
- Robert D Banks, Vice President International, Chromaline Screen Print Products

“We consider FESPA to be the leading international exhibition in the screen printing industry, and it is therefore one of the most important dates in our calendar. Having exhibited at FESPA several times before, we know that the show attracts quality visitors from all over the world, and provides an exhibition experience that is second-to-none. As such, we have chosen to use FESPA 2007 in Berlin as the launch pad for our new developing cylinder press and UV dryer products.”
- Shoichi Komi, Director of International Trade Department, Sakurai Graphic Systems Corp.

Building on the two halls of digital technology at FESPA 2005 and the great success of the debut FESPA Digital Printing Europe held in Amsterdam in May 2006, digital technology will continue to have a significant presence at FESPA’s flagship show next year in Berlin.

Chesterman comments: “As a result of the success of FESPA Digital in Amsterdam, many of that show’s exhibitors did not hesitate to sign up for FESPA 2007 in Berlin immediately. In light of this, we are absolutely confident that visitors to next year’s show will experience the best of screen and digital exhibited under one roof to date, involving applications such as textiles, electronics, sign, glass, ceramics, to name a few. It will be particularly interesting to monitor the presence of screen/digital hybrid solutions at FESPA 2007, given that one of the big launches at FESPA 2005 was the M-Press from Agfa and Thieme.”

Xaar, a key player in digital inkjet technology, and first-time FESPA exhibitor at FESPA Digital Printing Europe, is one such supplier that will be present at FESPA 2007 in Berlin. Elena Knight, Marketing Communications Manager, Xaar, made this comment following the company’s experience at FESPA Digital Printing Europe:

“FESPA Digital was a very busy show for Xaar. Given that we don’t sell to end users, it’s easy to question the value of a high-profile presence at trade exhibitions, but all our OEM customers are here, so it’s a highly effective international networking environment, and a superb opportunity to build our brand awareness. We’ll certainly be at FESPA in Berlin in 2007.”

Following the success of the Conference Programme at FESPA Digital Printing Europe, FESPA plans to run an educational seminar programme at FESPA 2007 to complement the wealth of technology that will be in action on the show floor. More information on this will be available in due course.
